Text message marketing

It's holiday time again! While retailers may be rejoicing, often your customers feel the strain of too much shopping and too much advertising. How can you make sure that your holiday text message marketing actually hits the mark and doesn't exhaust your subscribers? Get them excited about making a purchase or stopping by your store to redeem a special offer, and draw them in to make further purchases for the holidays as well.

What's the Next Step?

You want your customers to feel connected to your company this holiday season. Your advertising needs to fulfill this role. Customers can easily feel overwhelmed with too much email and too many ads coming their way. According to Sociomantic , "brands overwhelm consumers by serving ads too frequently, causing consumers to feel “stalked” and ultimately leaving them with negative brand associations."

Instead of hunting customers, have them come to you with delight. By sending them an offer that's exciting and will save them time and money, you reduce the overwhelm of the holiday season and strengthen your connection with that customer.

Mass text messaging

Are you promoting your auto auction with a few business cards and some random ads? If so, that may not be enough. Competitors are vying for your attendees’ attention. And the less strategic you are with your auction promotions, the more attention your competitors will draw to theirs. To get ahead, you need sound marketing strategies that will not only get your message heard, but will also allow it to stand out from the rest.

Here are five effective marketing strategies you can use to engage your audience and get your message in front of the people.

1. Email marketing

You may have heard the popular phrase, “The money’s in the list,” and this is because building an email list of targeted subscribers is a powerful strategy that enables you to attract and engage the people who will be interested in attending your auctions.

Set up a campaign to collect email addresses onto a subscriber list. You can do this by offering a free gift in exchange for an email address. Once you collect an email address, send ongoing relevant messages that are valuable to your subscribers, and that will keep them engaged....Read more

Non-profits exist to improve some aspect of the world, but you must have open lines of communication to achieve this goal — both within your organization and between your non-profit and the public. If you want to improve communication in the latter effort, you can use the following strategies.

Get Active on Social Media

Several non-profits have experienced considerable success with social media campaigns. For instance, organizations like World Bicycle Relief, Neverthirst, and World Help have leveraged Instagram to share their messages and engage their community .

The best social media campaigns have several goals:

Inform : Let the public know about your cause and why it matters. Use statistics whenever possible to make the cause more visceral and real, and don't be afraid to share images and videos that capture your audience's attention and bring the cause to them. Tap emotions : Many people donate to non-profits because they empathize with the cause. They don't want to see people suffer from hunger, thirst, homelessness, lack of medical care, and other tragedies, so they open their wallets. If you can tap those emotions through social media, you might experience a wave of support. Spread...Read more

We've heard a lot of noise about inbound marketing over the last several years. It's true that inbound can create positive customer relationships and improve conversion rates.

However, that doesn't mean outbound marketing is dead.

After all, we still see commercials on television and hear them on the radio. You probably still receive handbills in the mail advertising local restaurants and other businesses, and you likely get cold calls from businesses that want to add you to their customer rosters.

So how can the modern business infuse outbound marketing with their inbound strategies?

Talk to Customers in Person

There's no substitute for in-person conversations when it comes to marketing success. If you can shake someone's hand and look them in the eye, you stand a better chance of making a positive connection.

Consider attending industry events, participating in local programs, and even making cold calls to set up appointments. Just make sure to bring your "A" game to every in-person interaction. Be prepared to explain your USP and your company's core values. Most importantly, keep effective marketing strategies in your back pocket, such as mass text messaging ....Read more

As a healthcare professional, you often need to remind people to take care of their health. One way you do this is through appointment reminders. However, those reminders can take a lot of time to create, making it hard to get to other jobs that will help your practice run more smoothly. Using a texting service, you can reduce the amount of time you spend on reminders. How does a texting service work for healthcare appointments?

Patients Receive Healthcare Reminders Quickly and Easily

Texting is the perfect way to get in touch with many of your healthcare clients. This is because it's a fast and convenient way to communicate. Imagine the day of a patient who is about to visit your dental practice. The kids are heading to school, parents are going to work, and everyone's rushing. They need to pick up extra groceries for dinner, sign those forms, and oh yes: there's the dentist appointment tomorrow.

In the rush of everyday life, it's easy for people to forget about an appointment. They don't always check their phone messages, and they might only log into their personal email at the end of the day. However,...Read more

Having a passionate, loyal, and cult-like customer base is the goal of every company. When they love you, they’ll line up overnight for whatever you’re selling. But how can you leverage bulk texting to acquire customers and create lifelong fans out of them?

How to get customers to subscribe

You have a life-changing message for your customers - maybe a new product/service, or perhaps a once-in-a-lifetime sales promo - but you just wish you had more customers to tell. So how can you catch their eye and be the friend they can’t live without?

Keywords are special phrases that can be advertised anywhere – social media, radio/TV ads, etc. – and they’re designed to get people excited about engaging with your business.

Keywords are 2 to 12 characters in length (characters are letters, numbers, spaces, and punctuation marks) and they should be created strategically to help you achieve company goals; in this case, increasing your customer base by giving them a reason to text you.

If you’re a restaurant, you could advertise “Text CHEAPFOOD to 313131 and receive 10% off your entire bill!” The keyword is CHEAPFOOD, you’re giving...Read more

Text message marketing

You're enchanted by the possibilities of text message marketing. With a single text, you've managed to draw people into your store to redeem a coupon. Before you leap into an ongoing text campaign, did you know that the information you send through texts is subject to specific rules? Whether you're running a business or sending information to the parents of every child at your school, you need to make sure that you comply with regulations around text message marketing. Here's what you should know about the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA):

1. Text Messages Are Regulated

There are consumer protections around text message marketing. The Federal Communications Commission regulates communication that occurs through satellite, television, cable, radio, and wire, so text messages fall into this category. Since text messages come through your phone, they are specifically regulated by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. This Act is the anti-telemarketing act in the USA, and it works to reduce the amount of spam consumers receive. The shortcodes you text to your customers and leads are designed to combat spam.

2. You Need to Have Consent to Send Marketing Texts

Spam is unsolicited material that is sent without...Read more

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and the EZ Texting team wanted to do it right! To help raise awareness and funds, the company purchased pink ribbon t-shirts from the Susan G. Komen Foundation for all its US employees. We all wore our shirts on the same day to show our solidarity and support for this cause. Our Santa Monica, CA and Austin, TX teams planned special celebrations in each office.

In Austin, we celebrated Erin Wolf, a 6-year survivor with cake and special wishes.

In Santa Monica, CA we raised a toast to all those fighting this devastating disease – and to brave survivors like Erin.

So many of us have been touched by cancer. Raising awareness and supporting research is a special way to honor loved ones we’ve lost, and drive towards a better future.

Oh dear: now you've done it. Your marketing text has gone viral, and it isn't in a good way. Your accidental spelling mistake, autocorrect, or grammatical fail can impact your company in a big way or a small one. Spelling errors can be a turnoff to customers, making them view you as less than professional. How can you ensure that your marketing texts are error-free?

Avoiding Embarrassment 101

In general, you want your school, your church, your nonprofit, or your business to avoid sending out indecent text messages. However, this can happen if you don't watch your texts.

The key to prevention? Planning. Once you send a message, there's nothing you can do about your error.

Plan what you're going to say. Don't text in a rush. Watch your autocorrects, especially when you're texting a word that is very close to another word. According to CTV News , a woman who bought a Cadillac SRX sent an unfortunate thank you text to the seller in which SRX autocorrected to a different word. Take some time between drafting a marketing text and sending it. Proofread after that time has elapsed. According to Grammar Check, "if...Read more
