The most successful businesses have been using text message marketing for years. Are you behind the curve? Restaurants like Domino's have been using Short Message Service (SMS) to increase their reach with college students and sell significantly more pizzas.
Jostens has been using text message marketing to make it easier to communicate with students. By signing students up to receive reminders, they've made it much quicker to ensure that the students arrive with the proper forms and payments.
Why are SMS Text Messages So Effective?
Would you believe that 46% of Americans would prefer to give up a day off each week instead of giving up their smartphone?
Cellphones are a mainstay of everyone’s life. People use them all day, every day, for everything from basic conversations with family and friends to reading the news, doing work, and capturing important moments on video.
Thanks to everyone’s cellphone obsession, your text message campaigns are received quickly and conveniently on the devices they are already glued to.
A short code is five or six digit number that businesses or organizations use as a key element of a successful text message marketing campaign. When paired with a Keyword (a short word or phrase), text message marketing recipients are given all the tools they need to opt-in, interact, and receive ongoing text marketing communications.
Example: Text TICKETS to 313131 to receive 50% off for this evening’s basketball game.
Short Message Service (SMS) is a powerful marketing tool that allows you to deploy campaigns easily and quickly. But — if you don’t get everything set up right before you press send, there is no taking it back and you’ll have an error-filled message sent to your list.
You may already be using texting for your business or perhaps you're interested in launching your very first text marketing campaign. Either way, you should know about these simple and avoidable texting mistakes before your next promotion spirals out of control.

No wonder it's so hard to get to Inbox 0.
So, if you were wondering, we're still sending a boatload of marketing emails—over seven million per second.
And the momentum isn't expected to slow anytime soon. According to the CampaignMonitor study, business email sends have been on a growth rate of 3% per year, and that trend is projected to continue.
The question is, does it still work?

AT&T is working on a commercial 10DLC program to recognize long codes as a legitimate and sanctioned A2P SMS channel. Until this program is commercially available, shared short codes will operate as usual.
